Hoarders: Charles and Alvin

Alvin lives in Kansas
He lives with his mother. His mom has told him to clean. He didn't do it.

His mom fell and broke her hip. She had to call her daughters for help. They hadn't seen the hoard. "Oh. My. God." was their reaction to extreme hoard. And how did they think that Alvin could take care of their mom? And you haven't seen your mother for how long?

Alvin was raised, "under momma's skirt" his sister says. Which is a vomit inducing phrase that I have never heard before and am going to make it a point to forget as soon as humanly possible.

"What is this fucking Slayer music?" Scott noticing A&E's new musical choices for the first time this season. None of us understand it, Scott. It's just something we're going along with. Surely it will not last long.

Alvin could die right now and be fine with it. Sad face. Get out from under your mom's skirt and LIVE!
Dr. Green and Cory Chalmers are on the case. Cory spent the night last night. Or at least went and hung out with Alvin. We didn't witness that because A&E has learned that we don't need to witness that. Now let's save our specialists. DO NOT make them spend the night! I mean, Cory is good and he's more than just a clean-up guy, but he doesn't have to sleep there to prove it. Same with Matt. They mos def help out mentally. They are counselors. Treat them as such! They shouldn't be sleeping next to poop. Counselor Cory knows that when the family shows up things will get cray.

STUBEREN. Alvin's sister, she tells us she'd like to "blow his head off", has invented a new way to pronounce stubborn. She's also not being very nice.

Chalmers called it! The family shut down hoard progress.

Dr. Green thinks that Alvin has the feel of someone on the autistic spectrum. She's explaining that to his sisters so they can maybe not treat him like crap. It seemed to help.

Counselor Cory and crew did a home make-over. How did they do this!? They are amazing. I mean that. This is a miracle. They brought Alvin's mom back to see the makeover. She's so happy. That makes him happy. Now no one mention the skirt.

They removed 18,000 lbs of trash from the house. Alvin is working with an aftercare therapist and his relationship with his family has improved.

Charles
Bisbee, Arizona
Charles is an artist and Scott tells me Bisbee is where Doug Stanhope lives. Someone needs to tell Doug Stanhope about Charles. He could be Charles new muse.

Charles is a hoarder of nudes. Nudes that he paints. His hoarding is hindering his ability to paint nudes.

Beau, his son, says his father has a dark side. And that sent chills down my spine. He also has a daughter named Bonnie. They both seem like nice people.

Ginger is his ex-wife and she is pretty adorable. She sufffered severe surgical complications after giving birth to their daughter. I don't know what that could mean. Charles couldn't stand to see Ginger in pain so she sought attention elsewhere. (She had an affair, but ginger wouldn't say such a word.) And Charles "really flipped out" about it. He got into alcohol and collected guns. The hoarders with guns are the scariest. He says he had to move out or "do something violent with her".  Yikes.

Dr. Michael Tompkins is here. He says that Charles may suffer a psychic death. I don't want that! I want him to get rid of the guns and promise not to kill anyone...then paint more awesome pictures.
Charles is a really amazing artist. He depicts himself in his paintings as a beast known as the Javelina. He painted an entire series of Javelina paintings.

"I married some beautiful women. None of them lasted." Because Javelina came out.

Think of all the nude ladies Charles would have around if he didn't have the hoard?!

Dorothy Breninger! I love her. I wonder if she will end up posing for Charles? I'm sure he would paint something tasteful. No Javelinas!

"They can show people's shit and dead cats, but they can't show a tit on a painting." Scott

"You can't give away beautiful things." Charles explains this. He can't because his soul will be diminished. If Charles didn't seem like he might kill someone he'd be a pretty alright dude.

I think Ginger and Charles still have a chance. No, never mind, the guns and death threats. That will certainly put a damper on a good love story. But I just LIKE them together! I can't help it.

"A guy needs as many mirrors as he can get!" Charles, speaking the truth.

"NO LEATHER JACKETS GO!" Because that would be senseless.

Ginger told Charles he wasn't there for her when she needed him. Charles broke down crying. He's apologizied. Ginger says she was bad to him. They are holding hands and forgiving. (Still a chance for these crazy kids????)

It is like a black cloud has lifted from Charles. I think Javelina just died. Charles is getting rid of all kinds of stuff! Now they are cleaning the studio. Dorothy truly made something magical happen here between Charles and his family. And, keep in mind, she's the organizer. Yeah right! Counselor.

"Finally I've got a person who is a hoarder who is saying 'Get rid of it. No problem. Out. I value my family more.'" Dorothy on Charles

Oh my. Charles is going for it with Ginger. I saw that kiss!

Charles decided not to take advantage of aftercare therapy or organizing services. He is very grateful for his newly cleared gallery and uses the space to paint and teach art classes. I'd take a class from him. He is freaking awesome! I don't even feel like he would kill me with his guns anymore. Ginger took his dark cloud away. (With Dorothy's help and encouragement.)

If you'd like to contact Charles here is HIS EMAIL and the GALLERY where you can purchase his paintings.
