Me: It made me sad for J. Edgar and Clyde, especially Clyde. The audience added another element to the film. We were in a theater filled with old people. There were horrified gasps. The cross dressing is well known, right? Did the old people never hear of this? They sure thought screwing over Nixon was giggle worthy though! And for that, I applaud them.
I heard this on the way out. A woman to her husband, "I knew about all the power stuff, but did they have to get into his personal life?" I didn't catch his response.
Scott: It was a laborious mess. It should have been in chronological order.
So there you have it! J. Edgar. Go see it! Or don't! It's up to you.
