Grandma Nancy

On Monday my Mom took my Grandma Nancy shopping. Well, technically she's my step-Grandma. I don't really give a rat's ass about technicalities though. She's been there for me, being my Grandma and being a wonderful wife to my Grandpa for as long as I can remember. Just because traces of her DNA didn't make my Dad, that doesn't make her any less a Grandma to me. During their shopping trip she told my Mom that her hands felt numb. My mom didn't know what that could be, but encouraged her to go to the doctor.

The next day, Grandma Nancy goes to work and is having trouble doing simple tasks. So she gets home and told my Grandpa she needed to go to the hospital.

They found a brain tumor and cancer. Last year my Grandpa fought cancer and won. Now this. She is having total brain radiation today. I don't know how that ever shakes out and I don't know what is going to happen. I feel helpless, but if you have some spare time keep Grandpa and Grandma in your thoughts for me. Thanks.

Thank you! I look like a giant in that picture! They are just tiny little cuties.

Thinking of you and your bunch today. I'm bigger than my grandparents too. It makes me feel like I can protect them from things, but I can't and that sucks. I'm sorry you're scared today. I love that you have a super family to be with through all of this though.

Ok, I'm not some random stranger leaving comments on your blog. It's me, Jen Burkett! For some reason Blogger has stolen my identity.

Our love, thoughts and prayers are with you and Grandma Nancy. So sorry to hear that. They certainly are little cuties. George's Mom was only 4'11", and so sweet, and also a great woman. Our heartfelt thoughts and sending good energy you way.....
