I Hot Potted!

I received my very first hot pot invite from Becky Jo and Jill a few weeks ago. The date was set to hot pot. Yesterday was that day.

Back to Hot Pot. Not only was this a food adventure I was also meeting Jill for the first time. An exciting evening. Turns out Scott already knows Jill's husband. They play hockey together. So they were talking shop.
Side note: Jill's house smells really good.

Skye got home from the vet. His paws got cut. He was wearing a shame cone.  I offered to take pics of myself in the shame cone, but no one requested this of me. I was there to hot pot.

Now, I'm a picky eater. Like really specific picky right down to brand of ketchup, cereal or milk. I don't veer off of my regular foods. I don't try new things. I'm a food wimp. Jami tells me it's okay that I'm not food-brave because I am brave at other things in life. YES! I am. I tried hot pot! Big thing for me.
This is what my hot pot bowl looked like. Egg and some, I don't know what. Some stuff from jars to add different flavors. (That's a KCito there above my bowl.)
Scott LOVED hot pot. I wasn't a total hot pot maniac, but the whole event was lots of fun. Always fun to gather around the table with awesome people, laugh, talk and eat. Oh and drink KCitos.
And Becky took a smiley picture of us.

I'm fairly food-brave and I can't do hot pot. The egg in the bowl is the end of it for me. And I love eggs! I eat them over easy, I use them raw in ceaser dressing and aoli. But I just get weirded out when I see it sitting there in a bowl waiting for consumption. I blame my poultry issues on my years at Hy-Line. There's some pretty nasty shit there.
Remind me how to make KCitos so if I ever have to do hotpot again I can get good and drunk while everybody else hotpots it up.

Look at how smiley you both are. :)

Jen, if you don't want to have the egg in the bowl, you can just do the sauces. I was a little weird about the raw egg thing to begin with, but once it gets all mixed up, you can't really tell that it's in there.

I ♥ hot pot... I mean, I really like the food, but I also like to just get together and hang out too.

Thanks again for the KCitos, Kasey! I think Jill really enjoyed them. ;)

I'm slow with the times - what's a hot pot? (Besides the obvious - lol)

Wikipedia describes it better than I could. If I had to describe it I would say "a whole bunch of weird stuff mixed together in a bowl"

@Jen KCitos are easy breezy. It's sprite, clear rum and squeeze in a slice of lime. It's soo refreshing. I am hoping to get your birdy painting done by the end of the month. I could mix you one upon delivery.

And the raw egg did freak me out, but so did everything else so it was just one big freak out for me and I couldn't pick out what to be the most freaked out about.

I am so glad that you came - even if you didn't like it. :) You should come again - just for the "getting together"! :) The KCitos ROCKED. :) And I'm glad my house smells good - LOL! :) AND - I'M SO GLAD I FINALLY GOT TO MEET YOU!!! :)

The most important things is just having a great time with people who are wonderful, and exciting, and most of all fun! Looked like a successful, happy time. Love it! :)
