Interview with Mom

me: Are you busy today? How would you like to be interviewed? I'll post it on my blog. The internet needs more you.

mom: WELL I AM NOT SUPER BUSY. I JUST HAVE A FEW THINGS I NEED TO POST FIRST.

me: Ok. First, try to convince everyone why they should see Twilight and then explain to everyone why you think I won't watch it.

mom: It is a forbidden love story. Which, of course, you know I love. The reason I believe you won’t watch it is because you hate movies I like and your mind is closed.

me: HAHA! Oh Mom. Ok. Moving right along, away from sparkly vampires...
Today is Dad's birthday. Tell the internet how you two fell in love. Describe the beginning of one of America's great romances.

mom: Well I meet your dad when I was 15. We had a great time together. We would go to concerts. We both liked the outdoors. I could always be myself around him. We got married 4 years later and worked like all the time. Then 2 years later we had you. What a joy. Nothing could have made our lives more exciting. The adventure is just getting better and better. 3 years later, Will. We all know how fun he is. 5 years later Kyle and a couple after that Tara. Well this story could go on forever. I will cut it off now.

me: You should feel free to go on! This is good stuff.

mom: I was working between questions that is what took so long

me: oh. alright. Next question. Clearly I turned out great. I have you and Dad to thank for how mind blowingly wonderful I am. How awesome was I as a baby?

mom: You were just a beautiful baby and very good. It wasn’t hard at all. Of course, I had a great mom if I ran into any strange questions. She always knew the answer.

me: Funny. I always go to you with all my strange questions. (Not about offspring, of course) Your great Mom created a great Mom. What are some strange questions you had?

mom: The first one I remember was, you were just home from the hospital and you were just looking all around. I thought something was wrong with you . The funny part was you were just looking around. Not crying or anything.

me: I know Dad had a few scares when he first watched me.
Or I've been told. I obviously don't remember.

mom: I think the funniest for me to tell about him was when I was working nights so dad could watch you. He called me at work because it was the first time you had laughed and you wouldn't stop. So he thought something was wrong with you. (he is just as dumb as I was about things) I just said “WHAT she is laughing? Well that is alright isn't it?” He said yes.

me: How do you feel about Dad calling me and "telling on you"? Do you know you're being funny or are we just idiots as you so often declare?

mom: idiots

me: HAHA! Well, you'll have that. Describe what you think you were like in high school...
(This is a hard hitting interview!) You should also describe what Dad was like. I'm sure I'll never get him on the comp. for an interview.

mom: How about this, shy and outgoing. I was a hippy and a cheerleader. I was always a true friend.
Dad was a party animal. I think. We went to different schools. He had a lot of friends. Small town.

me: I concur with your thinking Dad was a party animal. Ok. This will be your last question this interview session. When we (Me, Will, Kyle & Tara) were little what did you think we would be when we grew up?

mom: I THOUGHT YOU WOULD BE AN ARTIST AND BE FAMOUS AND I STILL THINK YOU WILL. I THOUGHT WILL WOULD BE A MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL PLAYER. I THOUGHT KYLE WOULD BE A MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL PLAYER I THOUGHT TARA WOULD BE A PRINCESS

me: That's a lot of baseball playing. Oh and a Princess. She behaves like one. Just doesn't reign over any country.

mom: I have the best family ever. Everyone of them would do anything for the other. I have a Graphic Designer, a Construction Estimator, a United States Marine, and a Nurse. How lucky am I?

me: Awww. That's sweet. We are lucky to have you. You made us into the awesome that we are.

So there. I love my Mom. How could anyone not love her?

It's El Daderino's birthday today. I called to wish him a Happy Birthday and Mom said when his phone rang he angrily shouted "Who is it now?!" then it was me and he was all sweet.

I'm glad I'm one of the people he's sweet too. He's a professional scolder.

Awww.. what a lovely interview! Happy Birthday to your Dad!

How can someone be a hippy and a cheerleader? I wish I was around during that time. That would be way better than the cheerleaders of our high school years. Did she wear tye-dye and long skirts? :)

Long skirts, yes. Tie Dye, no.
My grandma made all her clothes.

She's shy and outgoing, a hippy and a cheerleader. My Mom is all things to all people.
