Latch Hook Rugs and the Red Wings

For some reason last week I was itching to do a latch hook rug. I don't know what caused this sudden urge inside of me but I was obviously quite disturbed by it.

Because I am never one to pass up an inane activity I decided to hit the town in search of a latch hook kit this weekend. Found some! The selection was ATROCIOUS! A lost art, this latch hooking. No, I don't want to latch hook an antique teddy bear. For the love of god! So I am latch hooking a dragonfly. It will be given to my BFF's cats, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Eleanor Roosevelt. They have taken a liking to their Dad's new rug so maybe this will curb their rug obsession for awhile.

Tonight I'll be latch hooking while dutifully watching the Red Wings win the Stanley Cup (I HOPE). Another good thing about this boring little craft is that it keeps me from partaking in my terrible habit of biting my fingers. Busy fingers can't be bitten.

So there. It's a win-win. The cats have some carpet to scratch and my latch hook itch has been scratched.

AHHH!!! NOO!!! I want the dragonfly rug! I love dragonflies. I have one tattooed on my body... don't give it to the cats! *frantic*

HA! I feel like I have billed this as cooler than it is. You want this? Really? You are aware it's a latch hook thing, yes?
OK. I'll pick out another one for the cats.
This display of OCD is yours.

Tis a cute design!
I saw a woman recently with Care Bears tattoed down her forearm. I wonder how much she regrets THAT youthful idea...

I don't know what latch hooking is, but whatever keeps you from biting your nails. I'll hang it on the wall in the Bat Cave. :)

Care bears, huh? on her forearm? I may have regretted that as well. Mine is small and is on my ankle...easy to cover if I had to.

My nails are fine, it's my fingers. They suffer my wrath.
