What Would Kasey Do

Over the years I have discovered that I consider myself a wonderful giver of advice. I wouldn't go so far as to say that anyone should take my advice or that anyone else considers my advice wonderful.

That being said...

If you have some questions you are dying to hear my answer to, the email lines are now open.

Just direct all questions to: helpmekasey@gmail.com

I'll be standing by waiting to tell you what to do. I will keep all question-askers anonymous.

Do you wonder how you can keep from becoming a cesspool of VD?
I can help.

Do you want to know how to deal with being in the presence of teens?
Ask me.

Did someone slight you? Do want to know the best way to get back at someone for forgetting your astrological sign? Misspelling your name? Speaking ill of your favorite celebrity?
I've been there.

I'll even take questions from teens! You guys need more advice than anyone.

Dear Kasey,
No one says my name right. They say Brandow and pronounce it Bran Dow (like Dow Jones). I tell them it's just like Marlin Brandow... the w is silent. Even people I've told this too several times continue to screw it up. Is there any way I can get through to them without resorting to physical violence? Thank you.

That's an excellent question, Mrs. Brandow. Thanks for asking.

My advice is: Start mispronouncing their name.

Do it a different way each time. When they try to correct you on it start speaking with an accent. French is a good accent option.

When they start to look really annoyed/frightened shout to them that "the name is BRANDOW!" Then point out to them that you are fully capable of pronouncing their name correctly because you aren't so wrapped up in your own life that you pay attention to things like, how to pronounce names other than your own.

Wow. That is the best advice I've gotten so far. That's quite interesting, because the person that is mispronouncing my name has a rather odd last name that I, being observant, took note of and tried to correctly pronounce. I will try your advice and hope that they stop freakin' callin' me the Dow Jones. :)

I have soo many questions. Let's see...What if you come across a person and they look familiar to you, but you can't (for the life of you) remember why or from where? What in the hell do I do, especially if they remember me and start talking to me?
